Framing

We understand that looking to have something framed can seem like a bit of a daunting endeavour but when you come to Pigments and Palettes you are talking to expert framers who have been in business for over 20 years and help answer all your questions and walk you through the process, costs and design.

There is never any pressue from us to for you to go ahead with any work if you come in; we will happily spend time with you to help you decide on colours understand the costs and you may take your time to think about if the design and cost are right for you and you can always come back when you are ready or go forward with the work after the consoltation.

As a family owned business, we understand how important it is to look after your work and help you create something beautiful for your home and preserve your memories.

Where requested and required we can use archival materials which are acid free and designed to protect your works further from the damaging elements, particularly light. 

Framing is a personalised and custom made service to fit the size and type of art to be framed as well as the materials used, so to start we can give you some pricing guides here and then please feel free to call us or pop on in with your artwork to talk further.

There can be many different types of artwork to frame and each have different requirements:

DRAWING OR PAINTING ON PAPER and PHOTOGRAPHS

You have an artwork or photograph this normally requires a coloured cardboard (mat) around the artwork, sometime we suggest layering two colours, and then the frame and glass. We will help you choose a colour of the mat and frame that suits the artwork colour scheme as well as what you think will suit your home decor.

CANVAS SHEET PAINTING

Artwork is painted onto a sheet of canvas, this needs to be stretched onto a structural wooden frame and then you may choose to add a decorative frame around it

PAINTING ON BOARD OR WOOD

Painting can be done on wooden boards or canvas boards, this are a sturdy material and do not require a mat, only a frame

CROSS STITCH

These are pinned over a foam board and then a coloured mat and frame can be added

PUZZLES

If you've taken the time to put together a treasured jigsaw puzzle we can mount and frame this as well

3D OBJCETS

This can be anything from your grandfathers war medals, coins... even a prehistoric shark tooth!

SPORTS JERSEYS AND CLOTHING

REPAIRS

Perhaps you already have something framed and just need the glass replaced or some TLC to replace the back and secure frame better
